Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

Teen 2 Teen is a peer listening service, not a therapy or emergency service. Every listener applies, must be over 15, and completes our safeguarding training programme before going live, and every conversation is covered by an active moderation policy.

Training programme

All listeners apply first, must be aged 15+, and complete peer-listening training covering active listening, boundaries, and escalation.

Live moderation

Trained mentors and T2T Officials oversee the platform, can join any active chat, and act on reports quickly.

Clear boundaries

Listeners do not provide clinical advice. We signpost to professional services when appropriate.

Your questions

Is Teen 2 Teen a helpline?

No. We’re a peer listening service. For emergencies please call 999; for urgent support call Samaritans on 116 123.

How are listeners recruited?

Listeners apply, are reviewed for suitability, complete training, and must be over 15 before they can begin listening.

Is my child’s chat private?

Chats are anonymous by default. Mentors or T2T Officials may review chats for safety or when a report is raised.

What if something goes wrong?

Every chat has a visible report button. Reports are triaged by our mentor team in line with our safeguarding policy.
